Getting started

Lineagram turns your family tree into a clean, printable chart. The editor is free, runs in your browser, and needs no sign-up.

Open the free editor

Five steps

1. Open the editor

Click “Open the free editor”. Your tree is stored in your browser and is not uploaded.

2. Bring in your tree

Import a GEDCOM (.ged) file exported from MyHeritage, Ancestry, FamilySearch or similar, or start a new tree and add people by hand.

3. Choose the main person

Select a person and set them as the main person. Relationship labels are shown from their point of view.

4. Edit details

Click anyone to edit names, dates, places and relationships in the side panel. Exact or estimated dates are both supported.

5. Export and print

Export a PDF at the paper size you need, from A4 up to large-format posters. Free exports carry a small “Made with Lineagram” footer; see the plans for clean exports.
